‘We Feel Seen, Heard, and Counted’ — Osun Youths Hail Adeleke for Restoring Trust in Governance

...as Nigerian Youth Congress Commends Adeleke’s Leadership, Says Osun Has Gained a New Face

The Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), Osun State Chapter, has praised Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke for what it described as a people-centred, inclusive, and transformative leadership that has reshaped governance and restored public confidence in Osun State.

In a statement titled “A Reflection on Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Leadership and the Transformation of Osun State,” the youth body said the governor’s administration has injected renewed energy and purpose into governance since assuming office.

According to the Congress, Governor Adeleke’s approach to leadership has been marked by inclusiveness, infrastructure renewal, public welfare, and deliberate youth participation, elements it said have collectively changed the narrative of governance in the state.

“Governor Ademola Adeleke has brought a distinct energy and a people-focused vision to governance, one that is clearly felt in the daily lives of Osun citizens,” the statement read.

The NYC highlighted infrastructure development as one of the most visible achievements of the administration, noting that long-neglected roads across the state are now receiving attention, improving connectivity between rural and urban communities.

“The administration understands that development must be felt, not just documented. Improved roads have eased movement, boosted local commerce, and enhanced economic activity across Osun,” the group stated.

On healthcare, the youth organisation said the Adeleke-led government has demonstrated strong commitment to strengthening public health through the rehabilitation of health facilities, improved access to basic medical services, and better welfare for healthcare workers.

“By placing public health high on its agenda, the Adeleke administration has made it clear that the wellbeing of Osun people is non-negotiable,” the statement noted.

The Congress particularly applauded the governor’s youth-inclusive governance style, describing it as one of the most progressive developments in Osun’s political history.

“For the first time in a long while, young people in Osun feel a genuine sense of belonging in governance. Through appointments, consultations, and active engagement, doors that were once shut have been deliberately opened,” NYC said.

It added that the inclusion of youths in governance has injected fresh ideas, innovation, and dynamism into public administration across the state.

Beyond policies and projects, the group also commended Governor Adeleke’s leadership style, describing it as approachable, empathetic, and deeply connected to the grassroots.

“This leadership style has helped bridge the gap between government and the governed, making citizens feel seen, heard, and represented,” the Congress stated.

As Osun looks to the future, the NYC said the gains recorded under the current administration provide a solid basis for reflection on continuity, consolidation, and sustained progress.

“Governor Ademola Adeleke’s tenure has undeniably given Osun State a new face, one defined by accessibility, inclusion, and practical development. The task ahead is to build on these foundations for the benefit of present and future generations,” the statement concluded.

The statement was signed by Ogbeni Sasona Mayowa Ayomide, Director of Media and Strategic Engagement, Nigerian Youth Congress, Osun State Chapter, under the chairmanship of Comrade Monsur Olayemi Olaribigbe.
