● Kabtok Hotels Fingered as Assembly Point of Attackers
After weeks of attacks by AMBO thugs on Adeleke supporters wearing Imole caps, members of the public are now rising in defence of members of the public wearing “Imole lekannsi caps’.
Three incidents happened in various parts of Osogbo today with passers by joining to defend and even beat up a gang of thugs beating those wearing Imole caps.
At a junction at Ota Efun today, an APC thug was surrounded by residents after he slapped a man wearing an Imole cap.
As the Adeleke supporter was challenging his attackers, passers by and residents around the area joined and actually beat up the APC thugs.
He only escaped after pleading for mercy from the residents who had gathered in large numbers.
A similar incident happened around Dele Yessir this afternoon when an Adeleke supporter on Okada with an Imole cap was forcefully pulled down by APC thugs.
People around the area spontaneously gathered around the assailants, preventing the two attackers from.escaping.
Aside from beating them up, the residents insisted on taking the attackers to the police station for committing public assault.
Again, the APC operatives begged before the mob left them off the hook.
The most brazen of the attacks happened today around Olaiya bridge when an Adeleke supporter with an Imole cap was suddenly surrounded and challenged on why he was wearing an Imole cap.
Before he could talk, they directed that they only want to see AMBO caps and then slapped him severally.
While this was on, members of the public around Olaiya had gathered and accosted the thugs, beating them up and dragging them around.
The Adeleke supporter who was beaten had to beg the public before the APC thugs escaped from the scene.
Meanwhile, unverified reports have fingered Kabtok hotel around Oroki as the assembly point for the APC attackers.
It was alleged that the hotel owned by an APC symphatiser, Kabiru Ajisope has become a harbouring point for political thugs and alleged criminals.
Meanwhile, the growing public anger against innocent citizens raises a matter of urgent attention for the security agencies.
