Abeere Soose, Diti Aluko, Fatoki Oloba lead statewide youth mobilization drive for Governor Adeleke’s re-election
The Imole Youth Campaign Team (IYCT), powered by the Osun State Ministry of Youth Affairs, has officially launched its statewide political structure ahead of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s 2026 re-election campaign, with youth leaders vowing to take grassroots mobilization to every ward and polling unit across Osun State.
The inaugural strategic meeting, held on Monday, brought together key youth stakeholders serving as Senatorial and Federal Constituency Coordinators under the movement.
The meeting was hosted by the Commissioner for Youth Affairs and Adviser to the Imole Youth Campaign Team, Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, who described the initiative as a youth-driven political movement designed to deepen participation, strengthen grassroots structures, and amplify the achievements of the Adeleke administration.
According to him, the 2026 governorship election would be decided beyond campaign stages and billboards.
“The election will be won in communities, campuses, streets, polling units, and among politically conscious young people who can already see the difference Governor Adeleke has made,” he stated.
Statewide Youth Mobilization Begins
At the meeting, participants resolved to immediately intensify youth sensitization, voter education, community outreach, door-to-door engagement, and political awareness campaigns across wards, local governments, federal constituencies, and senatorial districts.
The coordinators also unveiled plans for structured engagement with students, artisans, market groups, women associations, youth organizations, first-time voters, and community influencers as part of efforts to consolidate grassroots support for the Governor.
Key Coordinators Take Charge
Among those inaugurated to lead the movement across the state were Osun West Senatorial Coordinator, Afolabi Lukman Abeere Soose; Osun East Senatorial Coordinator, Diti Aluko; and Osun Central Senatorial Coordinator, Abiodun Fatoki Oloba.
In their separate remarks, the coordinators stressed the need for political consciousness, loyalty, strategic communication, and aggressive grassroots mobilization among young people ahead of the election.
Abeere Soose noted that youths across Osun are increasingly becoming politically active and organized.
“Grassroots mobilization is not social media noise. It is direct engagement with communities, students, artisans, and first-time voters who will determine the political direction of Osun State,” he said.
Lawmaker Backs Initiative
Also present at the meeting was Wale Akerele, who commended the initiative and called for sacrifice, sustained participation, and issue-based political engagement among Osun youths.
The meeting ended with renewed commitment from members of the Imole Youth Campaign Team to commence coordinated grassroots political activities and strategic stakeholder consultations across the state ahead of subsequent campaign engagements.
