Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke has again secured the confidence of Osun's traditional institution as the Ataoja of Osogbo and the Timi of Ede publicly endorsed his second term bid while applauding his administration's people-centred governance.
The royal endorsements came on Tuesday as Governor Adeleke commissioned the newly completed Osun Health Insurance Agency (OSHIA) Multipurpose Hall and officially flagged off the enrolment of traditional rulers and their queens into the Osun Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS), describing the initiative as another milestone in his administration's drive to guarantee quality and affordable healthcare for every resident of the state.
Addressing traditional rulers, government officials and stakeholders at the event, Governor Adeleke said extending health insurance coverage to the state's royal fathers reflects his administration's commitment to inclusive governance and social protection.
He explained that the initiative would ensure that traditional rulers and their queens enjoy access to quality healthcare services without the burden of out-of-pocket medical expenses.
"The free enrolment initiative is another bold step by our administration to ensure that traditional rulers and their queens enjoy qualitative healthcare services without financial hardship, in line with our people-centred health policy.
"We have delivered across all sectors of the economy and our administration deserves to be re-elected. On this note, I commission the OHIS Multipurpose Hall and flag off the enrolment of our royal fathers into the state health insurance scheme," Governor Adeleke declared.
The Governor highlighted major achievements recorded by his administration across critical sectors, including the construction of over 300 kilometres of roads, rehabilitation of more than 200 primary healthcare centres, renovation of over 150 schools, prompt payment of salaries and pension liabilities, cooperative financing, agricultural support programmes and the ongoing construction of the state's five-star stadium.
The event took a political dimension as leading monarchs openly declared support for Governor Adeleke's re-election, citing his performance and visible developmental projects across Osun State.
The Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, Larooye II, praised the Governor's achievements, saying, "I will not stop eulogising Governor Adeleke for his excellent performance in Osun State."
Similarly, the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, Laminisa I, commended the Governor for spreading development across the state, declaring, "I'm excited that my son, Governor Adeleke, is developing every nook and cranny of our communities."
The symbolic presentation of health insurance identity cards to traditional rulers and their queens marked the highpoint of the ceremony, underscoring what government officials described as another fulfilment of Governor Adeleke's promise to make quality healthcare accessible to every category of residents.
The event further reinforced the administration's growing support among traditional institutions, with royal fathers applauding the Governor's record in healthcare, infrastructure, education and social welfare while expressing confidence in the continuity of his development agenda beyond 2026.
