Osun SSG Congratulates New PDP South-West Executives, Calls for Unity Ahead of 2027



Osogbo, Osun State – April 16, 2025 – The Secretary to the Osun State Government, High Chief Teslim Igbalaye, has extended his congratulations to the newly elected South-West Zonal Executives of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The new leadership, headed by Barr. Kamoru Ajisafe, emerged following the successful South-West 2025 Elective Zonal Congress held in Ibadan, Oyo State.

In a statement released shortly after the conclusion of the congress, Chief Igbalaye hailed the event as a "landmark occasion" that showcased the "unity, resilience, and democratic maturity of the PDP family within the South-West region."

He lauded the party leadership and delegates for ensuring a peaceful, transparent, and inclusive electoral process. According to Chief Igbalaye, this successful congress has bolstered the confidence of party members and stakeholders as they look ahead to the 2027 general elections.

“I congratulate the newly elected executives of our great party in the South-West. Their emergence is a testament to the confidence our party members have in their capacity to steer the region towards greater political relevance and progress,” the statement read.

Chief Igbalaye further urged the new zonal leadership to prioritize reconciliation efforts, robust grassroots mobilization, and strategic planning as the PDP sets its course forward. He stressed the critical need for collective efforts among all party leaders, members, and stakeholders to ensure the PDP re-establishes itself as a dominant political force in the South-West.

“We must all come together in unity and purpose for the greater good of the party. The South-West has always played a pivotal role in Nigeria's political landscape, and with the right leadership, we can reclaim our position and deliver dividends of democracy to our people,” Chief Igbalaye concluded.
