Hon. (Chief) Kamorudeen Ajisafe has been elected as the National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the South-West region of Nigeria. The announcement follows a key party meeting held today in Ibadan, Oyo State, attended by prominent PDP figures including the Governors of Osun and Oyo States, His Excellency Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke and Governor Seyi Makinde, respectively.
Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, issued a congratulatory press statement lauding Hon. Ajisafe's emergence. Alimi described the appointment as "putting a square peg in a square hole," highlighting Ajisafe's long-standing political experience and significant contributions to the growth and development of the PDP at both the state and national levels.
In his statement, Commissioner Alimi conveyed his profound joy and fulfillment, not only as a fellow member of the same political constituency but also on behalf of the entire people of Osun State. He emphasized that the unanimous endorsement of Hon. Ajisafe by PDP leaders and elders across the South-West is a clear indication of his significant standing within the party.
"For the entire political leaders, elders and egg heads of the party in the entire south west to have put their thinking caps together as one united family under one political umbrella in endorsing your candidature and eventual emergence as a National Vice Chairman of our great party, PDP in the South West, is an eloquent testimony to the fact that you are not a small fry in the political firmament of PDP in the entire South West," Alimi stated.
He further added, "My dear Hon. Ajisafe, permit me to also add that, with your emergence the sky is your starting point as you continue to do your best for the growth and development of the PDP in the South West and Nigeria as a whole."
Commissioner Alimi concluded his statement by extending his best wishes to Hon. Ajisafe in his new leadership role within the South-West PDP.
